MINEXPO 2024 Experience
Held every four years in Las Vegas, MINExpo International is the mining industry’s premier event, bringing together representatives of some of the world’s largest companies. MINExpo 2024 was a record-breaking year, drawing more than 45,000 attendees and 2,000 exhibitors.
We leveraged more than 25 years of experience communicating to this critical, complicated industry to help our client Caterpillar tell its comprehensive story in MINExpo 2024’s largest booth space. The exhibit showcased the breadth of this Fortune 100 company’s mining offerings: machines, technology, autonomy, support services, electrification & energy solutions, financing and much more.
In addition to designing the space — including messaging, signage and unique interactive experiences — we sent teams around the world to capture video and photography to support the show. We produced 20+ hours of video content, wrote scripts for live hosts, and choregraphed multiple shows on two different screens/stages throughout the three-day show. This content was used to populate a dedicated MINExpo website, built and launched while we were on the ground in Las Vegas.

The show floor portrayed working areas of a mine site — drill pad, loading face, haul road, stockpile and underground operation. These areas were created to provide an environment and opportunity to demonstrate and discuss the collaborative, site-wide approach taken by Caterpillar in its support of mining customers.

Interactive kiosks filled with expanded content supported the machine and technology displays. They allowed visitors to find additional information on their own in addition to serving as a resource for show workers.

Conversation Stations
The Caterpillar MINExpo Experience offered 15 conversation stations — an opportunity for attendees to interact with experts to get more detailed information on specific topics and solutions.

Optimization theater
Designed to paint a vision of the future, this purpose-built, custom immersive theater was a highlight of the Caterpillar MINExpo experience. The majority of tickets for the theater sold out in advance of opening day and a new schedule was developed on-site, nearly doubling showings to 15 per day. More than 550 people saw the show over the three-day MINExpo event.
